1.  What bikes do you currently own?
Gary Fisher X-Caliber / Trek X01 / Old Schwinn Traveler Single Speed

2. What size of wheels do you prefer 26, 29 or both? Why?

Started out with 26″ but coverted over to 29 after a few test rides.  29er seems to roll better and flying down the hills seems to absorb everything thrown at it.

3. Your favorite trail and location?

Camp Alexander, Emporia  / Wilson Lake / Ouachita /Melvern River Trails, Melvern KS / RIM, Crowder State Park, Trenton MO.

4. How many years have you been riding?  And how many years racing?

Rode a bike everywhere as a kid with the neighborhood gang growing up, then occasionally as an adult until hooking up with my boy  T. Mohn and the High Gear Crew!!  Have been racing the past 2 years and enjoying every bit of it.

5. What type of racing is your specialty?  (XC, Endurance, CX, Road?)

Don’t really have a specialty.  Racing is Racing!  Just enjoy punishing myself for a few laps or hours, because when you finish it makes it that much better, and if you don’t finish it make you work that much harder to finish the next one!!

6. Do you have any pre-race rituals or preferred meals?

Finding the nearest bathroom, then a good race pre-ride of the trail.  Pasta the days leading up to a big race or on race day a stack of pancakes, oatmeal or french toast.

7.  During a race what Energy Gels or Fluid Replacement products do you use.

GU Gels, GU Chomps, beef jerky, some good trail mix.  Only WATER!!!  Tried the other stuff GU Brew and CytoMax but I always go back to plain old water.

8. Your favorite song or band?

Don’t have a favorite, listen to a little of everything except country.  Digging the Black Keys right now.

9.Your favorite movie?

Most anything with Chevy Chase in it.  Super Bad, Hollywood Knights, any good comedy.

10. Your favorite foods?

Mexican Food, some good BBQ, good sandwich joints.  Good beer-I think I can count that as a favorite.

11.  Any other hobbies?

Spending time with my family.  Camping, hunting and fishing.

12.  Why should someone take up cycling as a new hobby?

The best thing about cycling is getting to hang out with good friends, family and meeting new people along the way.  There is no better way to get out and explore the country side, you can go by something a million times in a car and not notice it but by bike it is a whole different experience.  SO GET OUT AND RIDE!!!
